Mitchell Peterson
Mitchell first drew international acclaim in 1987 when he came in sixth among babies born that day in the hospital and fifteenth in his hometown birth-off-contest.
These events led to Mitchell’s application for the 2008 World’s U23 team. Twenty years and several tiring hours of practice later it happened – the year 2008 has been the year of his great breakthrough. Apart from a few good wins at a small Thursday afternoon race in Draper, Utah, he was fourth in cross-country at the Sea Otter, and 187th at World Cup in Europe. A great success for 20-year-old Peterson and the redheaded biking scene in general.
But instead of resting on his laurels, Mitchell practiced even harder in order to get better. Top U23 American rankings give evidence to the fact that he achieved his aims: He has gained Legend In His Own Mind. The 4th place medal at the Guys Fast in a Straight Line, Uphill Championship at the end of the April was a sign of success for the Monavie/Cannondale U23 team leader. In the following years, look for Mitchell to race towards success and a great reputation for his team.
