In the Olympic year 2008, all eyes of the American mountain bike scene are focused on Beijing. It is Salt Lake City where Bart started with his own great expectations. Even hot temperatures couldn’t stop Bart from a great start as he was able to maintain his position at the head of the field within Utah, and from there, his influence grew. An unfortunate PhD, rewarding career and vibrant family brought a slow realization that for him to race in the Olympics, he would need different genetics. And a time machine. This was very frustrating for the motivated biker, but he could at least celebrate Tinker’s participation at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
